creating an operating system

hahah :D

man, are you serious or just having fun with the forums?
maybe posting this in "Lounge" section could have more useful responses.
can somebody write a lengthy source code
yes, many people did
for operating system
yes, some people did
in c++
yes, few people did (e.g. developers of Symbian)
and compile it with code blocks IDE
very unlikely
for me
if you have a lot of money or other incentive to make people work for you
Ignore the trolls.
@barango
If someone ask you to assist him assembling space ship from scratch what would you do?

Do you realize, what you are asking is not "too much" but far beyond "too much".
even if there is C++ open source operating system it surely doesn't include code blocks project files.

no no, no way you're just trolling..

What trolls? ;)

Looks like either the OP did a voluntary banishment, or someone else decided to administer some boot related instruction.
I'm thinking the latter.

But once again, the thread is now even more hilarious with the first post gone, because it now looks like helios is announcing to us this great new thing called linux.

helios is announcing to us this great new thing called linux.

"What is this, 'Linux'?" - average computer user
It was hilarious already when the OP was there.

It went:
Q: Has anyone C++ code OS?
A: Yes, Torvalds' little project

You do know how many lines of C++ code is in Linux, don't you?
A silly question deserves a silly answer, wouldn't you say? It's a shame nobody ever asks how to program a manned spacecraft, even though that's orders of magnitude less code.

Supposedly the computer onboard the lander had less computing power than a digital watch today.

The Apollo tech helped shape today's electronic world.

Not off-hand. How many lines?
Zilch. Linus doesn't like C++ very much at all. For something like a kernel, I don't blame him.
It could be argued every line of the Linux kernal written in C is C++, since C++ is a superset of C. :Þ

This has become a nice computing theory thread. Almost a shame the OP can't participate.
I could be argued Linux is written in neither C++ nor C, but in GNU C.
Things are now getting super-silly-ous.
you know, Linus Torvalds (if I spelled that correctly) has very negative opinion on C++, he will say all the worst against the language and wont choose words.

I once read a thread where he talked about C++ language with other posters, to bad I can't find it anymore, but he was so upset at everyone who would oppose his opinion on how bad
and ugly C++ is.

EDIT:

I found it!
read here:
http://harmful.cat-v.org/software/c++/linus

note his starting words *YOU* are full of bullshit. C++ is a horrible language.

Just out of curiosity, does someone know which language is ReactOs mainly developed in?

Maybe the above sentence is not correct in English… In that case, sorry
Thank you, helios.
