Are these things being issued as homework by lazy teachers? Or is some company using them as part of an interview process?
There's a steady stream of people wanting to have these done for them; if they were doing them for fun, they'd be doing it themselves, so what's the source of people wanting it done for them?

There seems to be some actual reward for finishing the problems, either actual money, college placement, job placement or whatever.

If I had known that you can complete "challenges" for rewards when I was first learning, this would have been great. However boring they sound now though..
