Facebook Or C++.com

I mean if you had a choice between facebook and cplusplus.com. What would you choose?
I think i would go for c++.com. You?
If by C++.com you mean this site, then this site. Otherwise, I have never been to it so I dunno.

Not to seem rude, but:

Okay, it's no big deal. I just feel better about myself by pointing out you mistake lol. I'm just kidding by the way.

I don't really participate on a regular basis on either site. I prefer facebook though as I can see how my friends are (and I do have real friends in case you were wondering lol) and what they're up to (most of whom I haven't seen in over a year).

I love this site as well, but I'm a newbie (as I have been for over a year now lol), so I can't get the full "experience" (for lack of a better word) out of it as it's harder for me to participate in conversations (related to code) as well as the lack of a friend base (for lack of a better word) which is harder to communicate in the lounge as people are less inclined to talk to (at) me. Mind you me, I can be a d*ck at times (see the opening of this post) so people likely try to avoid me lol.
cplusplus.com All the way. I can not imagine not having all the great references I have here. If I need to check if my code is correct I can come here and check my code which saves me so much and headaches. I personally use Google+ for social networking so no biggy with losing Facebook.
Call me a Judas, but FACEBOOK!
How's this?
lnk2019 gained the title Traitor.

I myself would take cplusplus.com
Facebook is just full of people whining about their lives, I don't use it. I also try to stay as anonymous as possible online. This site is the BEST.

cplusplus.com, I do not have a facebook site.
@CreativeMFS:

Ditto. On cplusplus.com there are some fairly intelligent somewhat-caring geeks. On Facebook, there are friends collectors, whiners, the general population, and privacy risks.

I like that
the general population
:)

I used to hang around with the "geeks" in high school (despite the fact that I am anything but), many of whom are my facebook friends, all of whom are not on this site (to my knowledge) and all of whom I can communicate with (that goes back to the fact that I'm an outcast here by my own making, but meh...). I think the most important thing that you said is that this site is not quite as mainstream as facebook where almost everyone has an account whereas this site is geared towards a specific group so there are most likely fewer people on this site (<- I don't know if this statement is accurate or not) and the people on this site (with a few exceptions, myself included) offer useful insight whcih could make this site seem better than the generic uses of facebook.

I have to take the defense for facebook here, you have options to prevent, and I quote,

friends collectors, whiners, the general population, and privacy risks

In this forum, I can prevent people from PMing me or seeing my email, just as so on facebook you can deny friend requests, change your settings so that certain groups of people can or cannot see your information and there are no rules stating that you must give detailed information that could cause privacy risks.

The answer to the question at hand really varies from person to person, and seeing as this site is full of people dedicated to C++, this site and programming in general, it is not much of a surprise that so many people don't like facebook (as much). I'm not complaining, I'm merely leaving the point out there that there is no right or wrong answer to the question, and leaving bold statements about the uselessness of facebook could cause offense to the lesser minds (such as myself, not that I took offense, I'm just a lesser mind) who prefer facebook (not that all people who enjoy facebook are lesser minds).
About the privacy risks: I suppose at the time I was thinking about Facebook's general attitude toward privacy. Heck, just last June, Facebook released a facial recognition feature that had the "picture tagging" feature enabled by default without sending a message upon release that it was enabled. That's not the sort of attitude that I approve of.

Also... how the Fortran am I supposed to prevent the general population?

I have difficulty trusting a business that considers me a product.
I like both equally. I'm glad I don't have to choose.

I wish people had to choose, then I wouldn't have to hear anything about facebook.

Sadly, this is the first time I heard of this.

Avoid facebook. Lima beans (everyone hates them, right?).
I have no real friends... lmao. It could take me about 5.5 seconds to log onto facebook and have about 500+ ?friends?. Idk... start partying with them... but I'm an extremist. Everything is extreme!!!! If I started to party, my life would fall apart. So, I'm basically going to have to go with cplusplus.com Obviously because computers is just better... Idk... if it was about money then facebook.com I'm sure facebook will inevitably become this social network that has an integrated c++/programming help thingy. Don't tell me if it already does... lmao

cplusplus.com has a nice documentation I am usually led to by google. I'd keep that. Google+ wouldn't be too hard to learn, and Skype is there too.

I use both. Facebook is boring though. My activity on Facebook is pretty low, right now. I guess cplusplus.com wins :)

Google+ when it comes out (unless it's already out?), methinks...maybe. I've never registered for any social networking sites. I also don't have net access yet at my new home.

When it all boils down...I'd have to choose option C (the local bar).
