Hi i am learning C++ at the moment, but i think i am ready to take up another language but i don't know what to do. please help. i thought about c# but i want to see what you all suggest to make a good decision.
also as i get older i want to persue a career in software programming if that make a difference, but i also like the web languages like javascript and xhtml and so on.....
Get a strong foundation in C++ if that's your first language, and take form it the principles of programming, (i.e. efficiency, algorithm design; as well as the basics(iteration, control, etc)
If you're worried about C++ being outdated the new standards draft is being revised now. It should be out around the same time as Duke Nukem Forever :p.
thank you it's just that i am getting to the stage where i understand the programming concepts and is quite good at C++ but i want to make something that will be able to errr... market in a way. and i am thinking about what i want to do and i hear you need to know a number of programming languages.
I'll suggest installing Linux (if you haven't already) and gaining some experience. Also, scripting languages (like python and ruby) are really fun and will come in handy some day
i have come across linux briefy and i found it a bit different and a bit of a hassle to use being a fully committed windows user, but i will take your consideration in affect and i may duel-boot it or something. thanks for the advice
being only 16 i have no experience in programming in the real world and i don't know what anything is, at least not as a experience anyway, i have learnt everything by myself and so on. So yeah i don't know what things are, to me at the moment a software programmer is a flag post in the future. :)
