I thought it was a taxi, but maybe not. AC/DC's current vocalist is awful IMO.

I'm fairly sure it was a friend but I could be wrong. The biography is a bit vague:

...it seemed strange that someone with a proven cast-iron constitution could simply die in a parked car with such a relatively small amount of alcohol...

As for their current singer (Brian Johnson), he's okay. I mean, if you forget Bon Scott's death, you could make an argument that it was Brian that got the band where it is. What music of his do you not like? The current stuff (Black Ice, Bank in Black...) or the old stuff (Flick of the Switch, Who made Who)?

I don't like Brian Johnson's singing voice, it just irritates me.

Have you listened to anything off of Flick of the Switch? His voice was less scratchy and more fluid.

@MottMan,
I didn't see that post until just now, but yeah, that's actually quite good. I still prefer Bon Scott though.

I like the earliest stuff (High Voltage, Powerage) because, although they are consistently rock n' roll, the early albums had more feeling in the lyrics and often the music. For instance, in the song Rocker (High Voltage) you can tell that the recording method was very rough as it sounds like they just placed a mic in front of Angus' amp. That raw sound accompanied by Bon's voice and true lyrics made some great songs: Rock N' Roll Damnation, Ride On (DDDDC), and lots more.

Another great singer and songwriter (IMO) is Beck Hansen. He's really out there but he's worth a listen. Sexx Laws is one of his most entertaining videos. Looking at my CDs (yes, I am one of the last 3 people to purchase CDs) Odelay is the craziest one, both in songs and album art. The front is weird but the back is completely WO! It shows an egg wearing shorts saying the rosary with an egg beater, a baby with bones behind it, and other strange as hell objects laying around. Hopefully that much oddity doesn't turn you off as I find his music amazing but every song always required multiple listens to appreciate them.

Hmm.... I didn't know there are many more metal bands doing different genre in the world! I guess I am the frog in the well. I guess I am into "main-stream" heavy-metal like Iron Maiden, Metallica and the like. Btw, Megadeth Dave Mustaine was formerly from Metallica isn't it ? Metallica songs have mellowed ALOT in the Load and Reload album.

Ok to start on another personal favorite is of cuz guitarist! I like those riffs like Deep Purple Smoke On The Water, Led Zepellin Stairway To Heaven etc.

I don't know if anyone notice on this guy called Micheal Schenker (formerly from Scorpions) and later the band MSG. Into The Arena, Captain Nemo etc are classic. I also trying to find the 70's Scorpions guitarist Uli Jon Roth (sp?) I guess I like his kind of melodic and sad guitar play. It remains relevant to me even today. Basically I like early Scorpions guitar play.

I guess music knows no boundaries and true-fully Germany Scorpions is one of my votes :)

PS Did I say I notice this band due to the "juicy" album covers from their Animal Magnetism ?
