No story today. But I just read an interesting tract about identifying whether the bear you are looking at is a Grizzly or a Black bear.

Very good find. However if I am close enough to tell the difference in its claw color, things have gone very wrong.
I am not generally afraid of animals. I even know how to fight and subdue a dog, should that be necessary. (Doesn’t mean I won’t get hurt doing it, so best to avoid it.)

But people tend to think of animals as a lot friendlier and safer than they are. Cows, for instance, aren’t all lovey-dovey all the time. An upset cow can easily kill a man without thinking twice. Even a cow who knows you and likes you.

That said, I can get along just with cows, just be sure to be aware of each other and not do anything stupid around them or anything.

Bears, on the other hand, those creatures are terrifying. There is no where you can be within 200 feet of a bear and be safe. That bear will run over to you faster than you can crap your pants (faster than an angry bull can!) and rip you in half by accident as she gets ready to maul you for being too near her cubs.

I mean, I like bears, they’re actually one of my favorite animals, but...

Stay away from bears.

Reminds me of when Scarecrow used his fear toxin on Bruce Wayne and watched him fearlessly enter the water with a crocodile.

Poor crocodile.
