Now, I know this is a far cry from the usual programming crap things we argue about discuss, but I was just curious: what are your favorite games?

My list is a tad too extensive to put in just 8,000 characters. >_>

Breath of Fire 3 - PSX
Warcraft 3 - PC
Super Mario Bros 3 - NES
Resident Evil 3 - PSX
Myst
Riven
Myst III: Exile
Myst IV: Revelations
Myst V: End of Ages
Mysterious Journey: Schizm
Mysterious Journey II: Chameleon

Pity that I beat them all and they have not much replay value.

Err, gosh. I can probably not even remember them all:

Assassins Creed, (original is better)
GTA: Vice City
TES: Morrowind
TES: Oblivion
Fallout 3
Fable, (original is better)
Warcraft 3
Age of Empires II

And the list continues with maybe 300 others :D

Left 4 Dead (2)
Unreal Tournament 3 (if you play with friends or LAN)
Resident Evil 3
Super Mario 64
Super Mario Kart 64
I also like Vice City and Age of Mythology
It seems you all have similar tastes to mine.

I've played most listed, as well as Neverwinter Nights.
You played something from the Myst series? What did you think?

janes apache longbow
Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six
It's hard to find someone who still remembers that game. It's a shame modern incarnations play almost nothing like the first two games.

In no particular order,
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Deus Ex
Pokémon up to and including the second generation. I found it particularly fun to figure out the memory layout and the representation of objects in the inventory. TGB Dual still has the best memory editor I've ever seen in an emulator. Only ZSNES comes close.
Duke Nukem 3D
Quake 3 Arena
Half-Life *
Honorary mention to Portal, which, although great -- indeed, one of the best games I've ever played -- it's too short to be in this list.
Chrono Trigger/Chross
Helios: for listing the Chronos, you are the coolest person ever.
I'm not much of a game lover but I think Plants Vs Zombies is kind of fun (yeah it sounds lame I know) you can get it from popcapgames.com.

The first two were the only true Rainbow Six games.
Bungie's Myth games
Homeworld
Tie Fighter
The Ultima series
Deus Ex
Quake 2 Lithium (I developed some mad tactics and strategies with the grappling hook)
Contra series
Ikaruga
Monkey Island series
Midtown Madness
X-COM UFO Defense

Just some of my favorites off the top of my head real quick.
Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn) (best song ever... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbpj0jNjUM0 )
Chrono Trigger (SNES)
The Legend of Zelda (all gameboy titles)
Final Fantasy (although I haven't played all of them)
Starcraft
Warcraft (all of them)
Pokémon (I caught them all once in the first version)
Fable the Lost Chapters
