"Lunix Tarballs" (or, my favorite, "Loonix Tarballs") is a well-known nickname to use when talking about (not to) Torvalds. Particularly around the chans.
Other examples include RMS -> Rimmis and (because I can't think of any other examples from programming) Tim B^Uckley.
