The patterns & practices team (http://msdn.microsoft.com/practices) is exploring the space of application development for Windows App Store and Windows 8. We are thinking about lean reusable components that help address common cross-cutting concerns. For Windows Store apps, the candidates are logging, user data validation, transient fault handling, data caching and potentially others.
