DirectX Sample browser shows blank screen

Hi, I installed DirecX SDK (June2010) on my system in C:\Program Files. When I tried to open the samplebrowser.exe file a screen was displayed with few controls in the left and a black rectangle on the right.

I knew something went wrong so I tried reinstalling the SDK but the same black rectangle was shown.

Next I installed the same SDK setup on my friend's system and when I opened the samplebrowser.exe the window with samples was displayed. Is there anyway that I could find out what went wrong on my system? and how to rectify it?

The SDK is only needed to compile executables, not to run them. Therefore I conclude that you have a problem with your DirectX installation, not with your DirectX SDK installation. Post @ Microsoft Answers to see if you can get support in that forum.
