Windows Form Application Database Connection

So, I've got a MySQL Database (5.0). What I basically want is to get data from a certain table's column and add it into a variable in my program. I've searched around, found almost nothing...As I stated in another topic, I am new to Form Programming, I apreciate any help I can get
