That book should not based on visual C++

Programming Windows, 5th edition by Charles Petzold. It explains it in C, not C++. :D

What 'type' of Windows programming are you after? System programming, application programming...
Are you just interested in the base Windows API or higher level stuff MFC, .net etc?
