Profiling in Visual Studio 2010

Sorry for the naive question, but I want to be able to develop a Windows application using Visual Studio and I also want to be able to perform profiling to get the best performance.

Looking at Microsoft's web site I see the Professional edition of Visual Studio 2010 does not appear to support profiling while the Premium version does. Then I see the prices. $549 for Professional and $5,469 for Premium?? Am I hallucinating? Do I really have to pay $5000 more to get profiling? That's nuts!
No. You only need to pay $4920 extra dollars for the Premium stuff. :P

Seriously, though. There is indeed a huge price delta between the Professional and Premium versions w/ MSDN that seems to be a bit crazy... I wouldn't know if it's worth it, though. (Even crazier is the Ultimate version... did you see how much that bugger costs?)
