Problem installing Microsoft Visual Studio C++ 6.0 pro

Having Problem installing Microsoft Visual Studio C++ 6.0 pro on Windows XP
It installs fine and opens fine.
Put when I try to select a file from the file menu, as soon as I click file Microsoft Visual Studio C++ 6.0 pro stops working or quits and goes out of ft Visual Studio C++ and goes back to my windows menu
With out any errors showing

Why do you want to use VC C++ 6 ?
It has issues with templates, and other known problems.

I paid for it sometime ago and never use it, don't want to buy a new one right now.
I would just like to find out what the problem is that I asked and maybe a way to fix it.

Just use VC++ 08 express, it's free and does basically the same thing.

Sorry - No - I've ran MSvc 6 on XP but have never had that problem.

I found out the reason to my problem and it is kind of dumn, but here it is just in case some one else has the same problem, even those this is and out dated program.
I forgot to download the service 6 pack
