Advanced Face Detection

I want to Create my own Advanced Face Detection engine. Can i get Guide line how can i do that ?

Someone suggested to use OpenCV. But i don't think that will be powerful and give me accurate result.

There re many many for that or Perhaps i did not get good Documentation on it that why ? who knows.

Any Help Appreciated as always.
