Avoid tutorials (not professional (by kids), plenty of bugs and wrong or obsolete things)
Read the Bible, the Petzold, then the Richter (easy to find as ebooks..)

Programming Windows with C++ 5th edition, by the MASTER Charles Petzold. I mean, WOW. Old book but it is the one I have. Not sure if there are newer editions out there.
