.ico images?

I know that this is a C++ forum and not a "How o Create .ico Images" forum, but I figure that there's someone in here with experience on how to do so.

I need a .ico for my program (for it's desktop icon, alt-tab menu, title bar, etc.) and I know how to write the code to load one to it, I just don't know how to make one xD.

Anyone know how to? The image editors I have available to me are MS Paint, Paint.NET, and GIMP. I checked and none of them actually have a Save As .ico option so I assumed they would not unless I used a certain technique that Google can't seem to give me.

Any help is much appreciated.
