Linux issues :(

Ok so I installed Linux Ubuntu on my laptop. I was trying to do a dual boot installation, but I think I messed up and overwrote my partition with windows. I have a partition with windows backup (at least I used to) but I dont know how to access it. System restore from BIOS just brings me straight to ubuntu without doing anything. And, my wifi stopped working on ubuntu as well. It worked fine, until I went to reboot and now it doesnt work. I can connect straight to the router and it works fine, but wifi is no good. Not sure what to do at this point
You selected "side-by-side install", right?
The first thing I'd check is if your other partitions are still there.
I had two options: Replace windows, or other options. I selected other options and installed linux onto an empty partition, I believe. How do I check other partitions in linux?
Boot to a live cd and check with gparted. If you have Windows 7 install disc you should be able to boot to recovery console and repair the boot files and reinstall the boot loader..

I don't have a recovery disc, laptop didnt come with it. It was all on a partition of my harddrive, which I dont think I can access
Go to System/System tools/Disk management (or similar). You'll see all your hard disks and the partitions on them there.
Yea the partitions for windows no longer exist. Linux has most of my hard drive, except for a 5 gig partition that is unallocated
