CC Compiler & Orbix migration

Hi,

The following migration is in progress.
CC Compiler(C++) from 4.2 to 5.9.
Orbix 3.3.1 to 3.3.9.
OS : Solaris 10

Scenario: Trying to test if the old code is compatible with new Orbix.

Orbix is generating some files that has namespace implemented.
But CC 4.2 is not supporting namespace functionality.
Can i make some changes to Orbix to generate files that
are compatible with the old CC Compiler?

I would assume you are licensing the product and paying Progress Software for support. Have them answer the question.

Yes, i have tried contacting them too. But it is consuming lots of time to get a response. Hence if anyone is aware of some related info, requesting you to kindly inform me at the earliest.

That's the whole point of paid support. What does your SLA say about response times?

kbw, he's a bad spot because the Sun Workshop 4.2 compiler has not been supported in a long, long time. The code is suffering major bit rot. This work should have been started about a decade ago. I really doubt that Progress Software still supports their product on this compiler. (The Orbix version he's currently on is very old as well.)

tomD, how did this software go without adequate maintenance for so long?
