OpenMotif

I am currently attempting to add bidirectional language and complex text layout (CTL) support to an OpenMotif 2.3.0 application. It is internationalized using ICU and supports English, Italian, Greek, and Chinese. The problem is that I need to add support for Arabic script.

I have found OpenMotif 2.1.30 that includes an IBM layout engine and the patches to add CTL here: http://www.opengroup.org/openmotif/bidi.html

My question is, does anybody have any experience with CTL? I'm not exactly sure if it will meet my needs or if it even works. I'm currently trying to get the demo program hellomotifi18n to run and it is not picking up the resources specified in the localized UID files.

My requirements are to display both English and Arabic script mixed. The strings must display in the appropriate logical directions and the Arabic portions must be rendered with diacritics and ligatures.
