Small forum idea

Someone should write a thread called FAQ, that lists a number of common questions and links to their corresponding articles. Then, the thread should be stickied in the Beginners forum...
And it should be locked and only added to my admins...
Header files, conditionals, and getline/cin immediately come to mind as the most common examples...not a day goes by without them.
Maybe just make the global topic have links to all the topics in the articles forum (that are good of course).
Simple truth is it wouldn't make a difference.

There are two kinds of people, those who know how to search, and those who don't. The former don't really need a FAQ and the latter will completely ignore it. I've seen plenty of FAQ on other sites, and they do little to dam the tide of repetitive queries.
The difference is that we can simply post a single link (without looking it up) to the FAQ when applicable...rather than having to re-post solutions or search for them...
I'm working on that for console issues

but alas I have been pretty preoccupied lately

I'll get to it shortly (hopefully before the main thread archives...)
Submissions welcome.

But yes, the intent is to have an easy URL to answer the constantly-asked questions.

[edit]
Rule #x^2: FAQs are asked frequently. Get used to them.
