Trying to pull some data from Adobe AIR Client

I've got some data that's server side that I'd like to get and put in a database of mine. The only problem is there's software out there and methods that I just don't understand. I have been lucky to find someone who could explain to me what it is I needed to do but I was unable to fully grasp what he wanted me to do. Thus, I bring to you what he said I needed to do. I was hoping that I could find some genius technological minded person here to help me crack this problem for me. While this isn't a C++ issue, I still feel that the group of people here are bright enough and that at least one person here can help me fulfill my task. Anyways, without further ado, this is what my friend suggested I do. He suggested that for me to get the data I want, I would "need to do a MITM "attack" on the RTMPS prtocol in the client." I have no idea what this means. Any ideas/explanations?
