Windows issue

Hey I accidentally downloaded something that acted like a virus and need a little help. It didn't do damage but it changed my display settings. I have vista. Although I don't know how to take screen shots I'll do my best to describe what it's like. Ok so when I right click to go to personalize and click on window color and appearance it doesn't go to that new one that was created in Vista, it goes one that looks like the one in the older versions of windows and only has a few options It doesn't allow me to alter the color. It's other options are ones with well ok ya different colors but much lower resolution. There names are high contrast: white, black #1, #2, it also has windows classic and windows standard which doesn't look much different from windows classic. Right now it's set on windows vista basic. My OS is specifically windows vista home premium. Anyone got any ideas on what happened and how to revert it?
Oh also the buttons to close, minimize, and expand a window are not as wide. Come to think if it I recognize this theme, which makes me think that the one I had got deleted on me, If you guys agree, do you how I can re-install the one I had. It's one that is set when you first install Vista (or least the home premium version)
Thanks.

If you suspect malicious software on your computer...

Download and install Malwarebytes, run a scan and see if it turns anything up.

If it doesn't, create a new user account and log in running the scan there. You can also boot in to that new user account in safe-mode.

I'm sure others will recommend really good virus removal tools too, but Malwarebytes is what I've had the most luck with.
I have a security program. I'm gonna have it run a scan over night tonight. Sorry guys I made this thread in a state of panic. Turns out I found a youtube video that solved me display/theme issue.
I had to do what's done in this video to fix the display issue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaQmRj9a65I
