How about this. Everybody here uses facebook (or most of us). So there's this feature that whenever we post, it shows us the time elapsed since we posted it and not the exact time. So I was thinking, will it be possible to implement the same thing in here? I mean, at least I will find it useful. Tell me how you guys think.
Yes, the relative time is more useful than the absolute time. daniweb also does it like that.
Perhaps only if the post is not older than 7 days, as figures like "2 years ago" are not very accurate.

I agree. If a post is older than a certain period then the exact time can be shown instead of the relative one. And there is also one other option of having both of them.
Your post is on Apr 14, 2012 at 8:41am. While in my pc its 1:43 PM. Now, i'm in no mood to look up the timezone and then figure out when you wrote it up. Wouldn't it be helpful if it were to show like 1 hour ago or 2 hour ago or such?
Well, I WAS under the impression that the time on the site and the time on my pc varied (due to timezone difference and such). But I am coming to realise that the time shown is same as my local time. Hmm.. in that case I may not need the feature. But I'd still rather have the relative time. I don't know why but its rather convenient. Some pshycological effect perhaps.
That's my issue, what if I can't see the image.
I may interpret it by reading the tex directly, but if I've got to go to the html with all those escaped charaters...
Latex scripts could be quite useful, but then again I don't see an awful many attempts to write equations on this forum. Just how much of a benefit would those scripts provide, I wonder?
Not much. As you said, generally we don't get math questions here very often - only occasionally in the lounge. And in that case, they can just link to codecogs or someplace else you can put latex code. Or ask on math.stackexchange
