I'm trying to build a computer that can handle the thoroughs of having to stream at HD and not effect gameplay. I'm really wanting to spend right at $1000 but I'm sure if I needed to there would be wiggle room. I'd do this myself except I'm having a hard time deciphering which components would work best with what. That being said, I know the difference between a motherboard and the other various parts. I just don't want to have to hassle with buying parts that end up being incompatible. Thanks.
$1k to build a computer with streaming HD games with no effect in gameplay? Just some of the parts to do that would be more than $1k from the research I've done.
I can tell you flat out that it's not possible on a $1K budget. It's not the hardware that is going to kill you, it's the upload speed from your ISP. Normally you wouldn't want anything lower then a tier 2 provider and at that point you're talking a few hundred dollars a month.
@Computergeek01:
He is talking about making a computer from scratch for just $1k. I think that is only possible if you buy mostly outdated hardware. A new top of the line graphics card alone for that is $900 or more.
... how does he plan on streaming the game and where does he plan on streaming it to?
Yeah, those two facts (ISP and streaming method) would break the $1k too. My problem is that he didn't say it was $1k for that but to build the computer itself. Either he hasn't considered the fine details of it or has planned to mess with that after building that kind of computer. I would venture to guess that a computer from scratch for what he wants would be in the range of $3k - $5k if not more.
