Ideas for improvements of the fora?

Hi all

I've been active in the forum for a couple weeks now, and I enjoy it. However, I have some ideas for improvement, and I thought that you might have some too. If we take them down here, they would be recorded, and perhaps implemented...

(1) Option to be email-notified on post updates
(2) Option to remove conversations from the "active conversation" list under user cp.

Pitch in...
(1) Option to be email-notified on post updates

Seconded.
Thirded.
(3) Option to add conversations to the "active conversation" list: sometimes I just want to follow a conversation, not participate in it
(4) Something similar to Scipio request - I would like to be able to bookmark threads.

(5) A better edit box - the current one is too restrictive (both in width and height)
(6) A link to the top of the page so that in long discussions in not needed to scroll up too much
(7) When searching the site, first show the hits inside the 'reference'-part, then the hits in the forums
How about an option to rate posts. Like the old "Did you find this post helpful? YES or NO" sort of thing.
(9) An option for the original author to mark a post as "solved" - this would be very nice when others search the fora for answers
Nice ideas. Bump in hopes that some of them are eventually added.
(10) Making the links recognize punctuation marks to avoid errors
(eg: http://www.cplusplus.com/forum/, http://www.cplusplus.com/forum/)
Every post you do adds to your total post count (the one next to our name) but make it possible to rep people and add it onto that score as well.
(12) A tag like [code] but without border or background, just to highlight keywords on explanations
IMO. I'd like to see this forum moved to a customized version of phpBB. I'd definitely be happy to help write the modifications etc for such a forum.
Any reason you'd like to see phpBB used instead? Just wondering what advantaged you would use, by using phpBB. Don't get me wrong I like phpBB but just curios.

;)
It's well known. Has alot of admin functionality built in and you can get add-ons/extensions for it. It just makes adding new features alot easier than working on a personal hand-coded forum.
Yeah good point there. Do we know who the forum owner is? As in does he post on here a lot?
However, I wouldn't like to see too much advertising on any new new site design.
I hate sites which are nearly all flashy distracting stuff, with just a tiny litte bit
of space for actual content.
Another good feature of phpBB is the RSS feeder. Which is what I use for other forums I visit. Make's life much easier.
