I've recently got myself my first job as a software developer since leaving uni - as part of the contract the company is willing to pay the cost of an annual subscription to "one relevant professional body".
Any suggestions?

DrDobbs went online only a few years ago, but they still churn out a monthly pdf for subscribers.

Would that not be something like the IEEE Computer Society not a magazine?

It's possible - it's a small company so I think the specifics of it are negotiable. Someone else there has a magazine subscription hence the title.
