Force youtube to only have sound

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to only output sound on youtube. I have some playlists that I would like to listen to at work but I don't want to eat up all of the bandwidth.
Googling "Youtube to MP3" will retrieve sites that let you convert a youtube video (by means of entering its url) to an mp3 file.
I am aware.. but it is a pain to do that to an entire playlist...
I don't think it's possible.

The audio portion of the data is intertwined with the video data to allow it to be streamed as it loads.

There's no way to extract just the audio without also downloading the video.
I wonder then why Youtube asks us as uploaders to deinterlace videos?
AFAIK, that's not referring to audio/video data interlacing. It's referring to interlaced video, which is something different.

Interlaced video renders odd scanlines one frame, then even scanlines the next frame. Progressive video renders the entire frame in one go, but at half the framerate. IE, 1080p vs. 1080i
hmm... beh oh well...
