Nicknames

Hey guys,

The thread title may seem weird to you(lol), but I'll explain myself :D . I've seen a lot of cool nicknames that a lot of game developers have(eg. Notch), and I was wondering if the programmer/developer himself his own nickname, or do his colleagues give him a nickname based on his personality, code, etc.

Sorry if it sounds weird I'm just curious :D.

It is probably a combination of both.
I'm sure their nicknames come up just like any other. javascript:editbox1.editSend()
don't ask how i got my screen name... :P
@strongdrink: You got absolutely plastered one night? No?

Wazzak
I actually forget xD
I have several pseudonyms I go by on the web. My most common are Cheraphy (a combination of Seraphim, Cherubim, and 'y' replacing the 'im') and bi0phaz3.

bi0phaz3 was my 'Hacker' name when I was 14 and thought leet was cool and hacking was awesome. The z was supposed to be a g, for biophage, typo or something.

Cheraphy was the name I chose in online rpgs where gender was an option. I usually play the girl.
1337#@x0r -- thats about the worst you can get xD
"Chrisname" is just something I came up with when I was thinking about how I could have my real name without my surname, without simply using my first name. I've used and use other nicknames, too; for example on osdev.org's forums I irritate people ask dumb questions post under the name 'Synon' (which is short for Synonymous, something I came up with when I was around 12/13). I use a different name, which I won't say here because I like to keep it separate, for other activities.

As for online games, the usernames I used when I played them have varied a lot. Mostly they were based around fictional characters (usually from Greek or Viking mythology).
"Wazzak" was the nickname given to me by my friends, because they say I'm "not right in the head".

"Horny Chiuaua" was another one. They gave me that one before Wazzak, and that was because I went round humping peoples legs in school. It was 4 years since I was last called that. Good times :)

Wazzak

You're not a dog, by any chance, are you?
I chose Albatross because of a particularly amusing episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus. It was because of that alone, and please do not let anyone else fool you into thinking that I got it from anywhere else. O_o

@OsiumFramework:
I was sure a) that you'd get your account back and b) that you'd choose Wazzak as your new account name if you didn't. Now that I know where the name came from...

-Albatross
Ably, I chose to believe that you go by Albatross because it is the name of a great hero in the story of your people.

Luc Lieber is a semi-random alias for my ethical technical projects.

Sorry, but I can't post my alias for unethical projects. :)
I came up with my username when I was just thinking of random, slightly unusual words. Stupebrett means diving board in Norwegian.
G-Rex is my first initial and my last name. Got it in sixth grade, still use it for everything. You don't get much better when it's me you're talking about.
I'm "LB", plain and simple. Unfortunately this forum has a minimum of 3 chars for usernames and trims off spaces and underscores from the sides of the username, so I had to put an ugly space in my username. You would not believe how many people try to call me L B haha
@LB where did you come up with your name though? O_o initials?
"Disch" sounds like "Dish", only spelled with an extra 'c'.

The 'c' is for 'cool'.
So is the c in my name; it's actually pronounced hris name.
