Beard.

To say that some part of your body is gross is a bit childish.. And if it's dirty, bathe more.
Yay beard wars! I don't know who invented shaving, always thought it was a woman but now I see there are men who'd rather do without a sign of their manliness. Maybe they don't like it?
@Catfish

I don't think most people have anything against beards Disch just has pogonophobia =P

I grow a beard for the summer and trim it off for the winter. Sounds ass backwards but prevents a lot of sunburn. I'm a skinhead during the winter :P.

Sucks to be you guys. Thanks to my blond hair and the fact that I have the hormones of a six-year old, I can go weeks without shaving before anyone notices.

...I'm not entirely sure I've won the genetic lottery.

How so? Plenty of natural things are gross. Nature can be downright disgusting at times.

And if it's dirty, bathe more.

Well that's kind of my point. By "dirty" I don't mean my hair is actually dirty. I mean it gets dirtier faster because it clings to dirt and sweat, and it's harder to clean.

So the end result is that I do have to bathe more. And bathing thoroughly takes longer and requires more effort than would otherwise be necessary. That's what I was getting at.

How is body hair a sign of manliness? Women have it, too.

I don't have a fear of beards, I just think they're gross and ugly =P.

Most of the time, anyway. Every once in a while I'll see someone who actually does look better with good facial hair. But it's very rare. And it's always very neatly trimmed.
I'm curious, what everyone's opinion of stubble is.
And if it's dirty, bathe more

Or bike more often and hope for rain. Also, when they start to form, pick out the beard-berries regularly.

Related topic: substitute the "beard" in beardberries for "dingle".

I have observed such behavior more frequently in children than in adults. What kind of answer did you expect?
I think stubble is good as it makes your jawline more defined. I don't want or like proper beards, though. If it's longer than about a centimetre, it's too long.

Children just need time to get used to their own disgusting anatomy. Deal with it, Disch.

;)

Edit: added smiley face otherwise people might take this post seriously.

Beards are fine, but I only find the lighter ones to be the best, big ones are a bit... Well, stupid.

By that criteria you could also say that happiness is childish.
It is. But that's not necessarily a bad thing ;D
Well my point was that "childish" suggests "immature". It's not immature to find things to be gross.

Linking immaturity to anything observed more in children than adults can lead to ridiculous results.
My 2 cents.... If you want a beard, grow one! If you don't then get razors shavers etc... I never judge people by their beardedness either. Just a point.. some of the worlds top techies have or had beards! I find intelectuals have beards, I think because they just cant be arsed to shave because they have far more important things on their minds. If you shave every singe day say for 5 mins, over say 50 years thats too much time wasted, let it grow and do more interesting things with the time, like coding in C++. This concept that somehow it's dirty is total popycock. Hey the entire world is "dirty". I find people who outwardly are "squeeky clean" generally are "dirty" inside, thinking horrid things and watching porno all day.

By god, you're right! Hell, I better stop showering, brushing my teeth, and wearing clothes, since all of them use much more than 0.347222... % of my time.
lmao helios.

no comment on the porno thing...wtf a142763?
well, ok, but there is no need to shower every single day, for example, once every other day in summer and every 3rd day in winter should be good. As for brushing teeth, that depends on how much crap you eat, if you eat tons of sugar, then even 2 times per day may be necessary. The "I must shower 1000 times a day" mentality was pushed onto Americans after the second world war by the likes of Uniliver and Proctor & Gamble and is of course brainwashing to move none other than "soap". Soap sales are at an all time high, keeping these companies ahead of their game. And they still try to flog ever more soap products. Google "is soap necessary" the results are suprising.
That's disgusting.
