I am trying to write up some of my masters work with TexMaker under Ubuntu (+ whatever LaTeX distribution it installs as a dependency). I know I should ask on a LaTeX forum, but they didn't reply when I tried last time.
Basically, whether I use \neq or \not=, the symbol shows up as an equals sign '=' rather than a not equal sign. Any ideas, anyone?
I'd say there's some problem with the latex parser and/or renderer. \neq and \not= are both correct. Or maybe you have a weird resolution that makes that not equals sign look like an equals sign? Don't know what else could be the problem.
