2 thumbs up. If you liked the first Portal, Portal 2 will blow you away. I expected great things and it didn't disappoint.
I didn't even try the 2 player co-op portion, but I guess it's all new levels and stuff where you need to have 2 separate people working together to get through. Talk about awesome.
The single player portion is freaking excellent, though. Fun puzzles, awesome atmosphere, and of course spectacular writing and voice acting. Like the first Portal, it has that unique sense of humor that I adore.
I highly recommend it to anyone that hasn't already played it.
Anybody else try it yet?
EDIT:
Also, I loved the closing song from Portal 1. But, of course, the closing song in Portal 2 is waaay better. XD
Yeah, I loved it too. Steven Merchant's voice acting as Wheatley was really good (he was in the British 'The Office', though in fact I've only seen the American one).
I didn't even try the 2 player co-op portion
I'm still waiting to do the final few testchambers with my brother. It's best to do co-op with someone you know because there's loads of fun to be had spending ages trying to kill each other with spikes, etc. And GLaDOS' commentary continues to please. Also, there's a nice surprise at the end - I haven't seen it yet, but I know a bit about it. Looking forward to finding out the whole thing.
Anybody else try it yet?
Yes
in case you hadn't realised by this point =p
closing song
'Still Alive' beats 'Want you Gone' in my opinion, but 'Want You Gone' is still good. However, the song from just before 'Want you Gone', called 'Cara Mia' is really good. It's only about a minute, but I was listening over and over again on YouTube.
[minor spoiler alert ahead]

The ending in Portal 2 was generally f***ing awesome, I have to say. Did you guess GLaDOS' true identity - I started to wonder about half way through Cave Johnson's testchambers.
First of all, I loved some of the testing elements. Possibly my favorite were the excursion funnels. Valve did some good work with choosing their test elements. Congratulations!
However, the test chambers were *way* too easy. The simple reason is that the chambers were not really designed to have any duds- elements that could lead you into a tree of thought that was meant to dead-end. The only notable difficulties I had was when I needed to search for a portal surface to move on. Specifically, I found the chambers in Chapter 8 to be easier than those from the previous two chapters. I forgive them for the first test chamber in that chapter owing to a bit of a storyline, but after that there's no excuse.
Fortunately, the co-op is slightly harder simply owing to the number of portals you have to keep track of (while planning) at once. They're still easy, but at least they're amusing when you haven't had caffeine for a few hours late at night. ;)
I missed the lonely atmosphere from Portal 1. I can understand it wouldn't be appropriate in the first test chambers, but if they fit some of it in during Chapter 6, I would have appreciated it. I... don't know where I was going with this one.
The sense of humor in Portal 2: Excellent. That made a game that would have been entertaining without it *very* entertaining. Possibly my favorite scene is when GLaDOS tricks Wheatley into shocking himself.
All in all, it was entertaining but Portal 1 will always hold a special place in my heart.
Oh yes, and I forgot to say that it was too short. That wouldn't have been an issue had the test chambers been a little harder. I do agree with you Albatross, with the exception of one or two, I worked out most chambers in 15 minutes or so. However, I remember getting stuck in a moon gel bit, getting bored, and just putting it *everywhere*.
Compared to Portal 1, I'm not sure. I think number two was better in terms of story and script, and the testchambers were more varied if less challenging. I'm not convinced though, as I got Portal 1 free and paid £23 for Portal 2.
Obviously, I, being the big VALVe fan that I am, pre-ordered Portal 2 the moment it was possible. So I've been having fun with it for quite sometime. It surely didn't disappoint me in gameplay, story, graphics, humor and general degree in awesomeness. The only thing that bothered me - as Xander314 already said - is that it was just WAY to short. I really hope to see some DLC around very soon.
As Albatross already pointed out, the humor was ex-cel-lent. You got dropped right into it, too: "Bad news: That is NOT a docking station." Just plain awesome.
All in all, I really enjoyed it, but it lasted too short.
Lol he performed a manual override on the wall. Also later on he was 'hacking' into the lock on a door and he said he couldn't do it with you watching. You look away, hear a smashing sound and then there's no longer any glass in the door XD
+1 for the DLC, but it will be really short I should imagine. Maybe [spoiler] it's just Chell walking through a field before she gets bored and goes back inside ready for Portal 3 =P
