Where are you from?

Pages: 12
I was browsing the forums today and I began to wonder where the various poster on this forum come from. It never really occurred to me before that people in these forums were from anywhere else but the U.K. but that's obviously not true.

I suppose I'll get the ball rolling, I'm from the rainy city of Manchester, in The United Kingdom.

So where are you from?
You might want to look at

Duh! I forgot about those.

It would seem there are a lot more people from mainland Europe on this forum that I had initially expected.

The surroundings are nice but I kind of want to get out of here.

I know that feeling. I've been working as an intern in Germany almost a year (it will be a year on the 4th) and I've loved it!

Sadly I gotta go back in a month for my final year at University, but I hoped to study in Norway after.

My N.I.N (Americans don't have one of these) says otherwise.

SSNs are probably the closest thing we (cringe) have to N.I.N.s, seeing as they're not only used for social security but also for taxation and many other practical purposes.

Since you claim that you're me, then you should ace these questions:

1) What is my N.I.N?
2) What's my drivers license number?
3) My bank account is assigned to which company?

Also, if you were me, who was you at the time? :)

Apparently you're me too, are you Neo?

I used to live in a place called Wythenshawe, in South Manchester. Quoting Wikipedia:

I saw, met & knew "3rd Generation" Chav's. Fun times!

largest council housing estates

Just curious what is council housing estates ?
"3rd Generation" Chav's

Their grandparents must have been at least thirty ;)

I'm from South Wales. However, I consider myself British (watch my videos, I don't have a Welsh accent) and I don't own any sheep so no jokes from the English members please =P
I wonder if any international members will get this?

They are government owned houses/apartments to provide affordable housing for people who are not able to meet the costs (for whatever reason) of renting/owning a private property.

Although some of the properties are quite nice and well maintained, the people who live there are usually less than reputable, to say the least ( me excluded ofcourse ;) ).

I have a really mixed sense of identity (due to my asian parentage), but England is the only home I've really known and I suppose in many way's is the only one I care to. I am English, but it's complicated ;)

Oic... then in my country close to 90% of the people live in government owned houses and they are no longer cheap in fact some can reach 1 million!!!!! This is because my country is very very very small. A small little dot in the world globe :P
@sohguanh: I always though Singapore was quite affluent? Being one of the major economies in Asia... Or is there a rich poor divide or something?
