Sooo how bout that leak of user info and what is likely to be the biggest breach of personal information in the history of the internet...

Congratulations, Sony. You really should have paid your programmers a bit more just to make sure that this sort of thing wouldn't happen.

(Thank goodness I don't have a PS).

Same, I haven't been into console gaming since I built my first PC. But a lot of my friends do have a PS3, and the majority of them aren't the most tech savvy so they are pretty much freaking the eff out.
Ouch. Fortunately, I haven't bought anything on PSN so I'm not as concerned...although this explains the slight increase is spam mails I've gotten recently...

I just hate the fact I can't play games with my friends. -_-
3.Quickly taken steps to enhance security and strengthen our network infrastructure by re-building our system to provide you with greater protection of your personal information.

What do you think "re-building our system" means?
I'd say they are completely rewriting the server software.
Uh-oh.

If that were the case, which for the sake of the many people who have a PSN account I hope it isn't, didn't Sony learn anything from Microsoft's past attempts at completely rewriting their software?

Sony has just released some info about the down-time. *All* personal information has been comprimised although they aren't sure about credit cards.
