It makes no sense for someone with no knowledge of economy vote for tax reforms
Also it doesn't make sense that those people vote for the person that will be in charge of that decision.
I do feel that it makes more sense to leave decisions to those who are qualified to make them.
That is dangerous. The decision could be biased, there will be no opposition.

that politicians make decisions to please the people and make them vote for the party
Except that sometimes they don't even do that. (VTAMG ya)
However, isn't that one of the biggest problems in a direct democracy? We do what will please the majority.
[edit] (So the decision will be more careful, we don't want the others angry) [/edit]

Side note: The first time that I went to vote, there were approx 120 candidates. It was an easy choice.

Fair point. I still think it makes sense in theory, but in practise it would probably fall down due to human failings. On the other hand, not all experts agree so there could still be opposition.

On the other hand, we can just have such qualified people acting in an advisory capacity. Only problem is, the government are free to ignore there advice, and in this country one was even fired for saying something out of line with government policy...

No solution to the problem is perfect it would seem. It is just a matter of finding the one with the least flaws.
Personally I think of poltics in a way similar to technology - as something that progresses. This is why I can't stand conservatives (note the capitalisation). I imagine we'll move towards a freer and a fairer society, hopefully a socialist one. There will undoubtedbly be a few bumps along the way, but we'll get there.
