offered a job on campus

So happy funny story time for you:

Today a friend who lives down my hall and I were hanging in his room. He was showing me his coin collection when he dropped a vintage coin (one made of pure copper) on his desk. It bounced off the desk, through a vent on his computer chassis and right onto a graphics card. The computer immediately shut off. We opened the case, removed the coin and pressed the power button on the PC...no luck. I reset the CMOS, cleared the RAM, removed all components that weren't vital and did everything I could to get it to work. Notta, zip.

SO we take the pc to the tech support on campus. While the guy there is using his tools on it. I strike up a conversation with some one else who was in the office. We get to talking about experiences with computers and malfucntions, that leads to programming topics. Then he starts asking me questions that feel very much like an interview.

Turns out this guy is the manager of the tech support on campus as well as the web and server administration on campus. He tells me to apply next month, and as long as they have room on staff he can almost garuntee me a job.

So I know it's not quite being offered a job. But this has me pretty excited. I'd be working for their web/server sys admins as a web developer. The fact that I have experience with ASM/C/C++/C#/Java was a major bonus. Their web developers don't understand the finer details of programming as they are mostly website designers.
Wow! Congratulations! Are you planning to take the job, or...?

So was that coin lucky or unlucky ? :P
That's awesome! Good luck!
thanks all :D. Turns out I'd be working both as a Web Developer and as a tech working on computers. Both things I'm very much ok with. I still need to be interviewed and what not, But things are looking good.

Incidentally if you ever get asked at an interview "what is your view on the differences between 32 bit and 64 bit processors. NEVER say "Well i have an 86 bit processor so thats better then both"

Needless to say that man did NOT get a job.

@Luc Lieber The coin was lucky, he needed to upgrade his PC anyways XD
