The "Experts" you are calling for work with C++ for a living 8h/day (and then in their free time, if they don't write on this board on company time...). Do you really expect to be baby-sitted by them in addition?
Agreed. I barely have enough time for my own hobbies outside of work, let along spending time online tutoring people in a C++ project.
I fully understand that you work, I work 40 hours a week too, and I will also be starting school again. I want to make it perfectly clear that I am making no demands. My idea was a rough one and as people post here, I am refining it. I think that maybe what would be better is that some programmers get together, we think of a program we would all be interested in working on, and we work on it. If we have any questions, we can post it here, or other forums on the web.
I wish not to be Baby-sat, and quite honestly I think that the comment made that that is what this is about is completely out of context. And not the point at all!
If I had to sum up my idea in one question it would be, Would any programmers be interested in starting an open-source project? Maybe I should have asked that before instead of bringing in the idea of mentors and such.
So let me rephrase my first post:
Would any one be interested in working on an open source Address book with me? You can be of any skill level, and there is no time dedication, work whenever convenient for you! Experienced programmers welcomed!
