need to backup a partition to cds/dvds

first off ik this isnt a tech support forum -- I just thought that somebody here would have some idea of how to do what I want.
ok, I've looked through many options available to me (including norton ghost and hdclone) and heres the deal -- none of them will really help me much.
I need a more classic style of backup -- one that copies all the data to bootable cds/dvds (yes, I know, I expect up to 30 dvds, I know the cost and such)...
I only have my one hard drive, and I cant really get another one, so applications like HDclone are virtually useless.
I remember older versions of NERO burning rom having similar funcitons, but it seems that ever since HDDs got huge, support for such a thing became antiquated...
any ideas?

I think Norton Ghost can copy the partition exactly as it is to the dvds and then it can boot from there and set you back...
You just need a bootable version of Ghost, not the one in windows...
