@chrisname, well there's you're problem, it's a resistive touch screen. those are by nature terrible, If it were capacitive i doubt you'd hate it nearly as much.
Resistive touch screens use two sheets of glass and measure the resistance generated by pressure of say a finger pressing down on the screen. This type needs to be calibrated regularly and isnt nearly as good as capacitive
Capacitive touch screens only work when a circuit is made when you press down your finger. They never need to be calibrated and are a lot smoother than resistive.
Resistive screens are cheaper to make and that is there only redeeming quality (IMO)
Your phone is resistive. And I'll admit i hate resistive touch screens. they are clunky and terrible. But my G1 is capacitive and it is amazing.
Fair enough. I've seen people use iPhones and, while I adamantly refuse to ever buy anything made by Apple, the touch interface did, at least, look usable.
