I have been a member of this forum for almost 3 years now back in the glory days where Twicker sent out C++ t-shirts to it's members, which my wife and I still wear proudly :)... and it's never been like this. And it's not just Spoon Licker and his/her many aliases, there have been others ranging from the Portuguese debacle of 2009 to the many forms of xor. And I know it sounds dramatic, but order needs to be restored or we'll lose members and see a general decline in quality. I hope Twicker will seriously consider providing dedicated community members with the necessary tools asap.

I'm kidding. Of course there will always be someone who'd abuse the anonymity of the internet, but nothing nearly on this level. Now, spoonlicker AFAWK has had 6 aliases. For what purpose? To post inflammatory comments.
I might sound like an old lady, but I miss the older days.

I found out about the urbandictionary definition of Albatross long after I chose this username (actually, someone in the IRC tipped me off about it... I think it was a month ago?). It's amazing how the human race can take any innocent word or phrase and make it dirty. *desk*

I'm now starting to seriously consider PMing twicker and seeing if he can change my alias to something without any sexual connotations.
EDIT: Although, no. I chose the name Albatross because I had a riot when Monty Python kept shouting it at random intervals during (I think) Ep 18 of Flying Circus. I don't care if you make fun of it or see it as something dirty that it is not. I'm keeping the name.

This is an effort in futility. This is no such alias.
The forums must be doing well; the trolls are moving in. We've had seven troll accounts so far (including cdoubleplus) and it's not even February yet. I don't know if we had that many the whole previous year...

In reality, I think Twicker does a good job. I've been using this site for a few years now and there is maybe one person a month I've seen who causes a problem. Admittedly I don't use this site as frequently as before; but that's because every 2nd question is the same.
Yeah you joined a month or two before me. This thread emerged because of a wave of assaults by one character... spoon licker who has used about 6 accounts now and relentlessly assaults the forum.
I wouldn't worry to be honest. I usually just put a single reply with something like
Reported: <my reason>
And then leave the thread. They usually go away. Encouraging them with responses is the worst thing to do. Don't feed the troll :P

feeding the trolls is fun sometimes =P but yeah I just report them as soon as I see them too, well I say them, but it's only really one person repeatedly. Don't know how well a community ban option would work, it would have to be done very carefully.

Yes I instantly report them... but right now I'm waiting for a new build so I'm pretty bored.
@Zaita: The key word is "usually". Spoonlicker here has proven to be quite persistent. This is his eighth account, I believe (spoonlicker, western, spoon licker, helpme, helpmeagain, helpmeagainandagain, Spoon Licker, spoon___licker) :/
I suggest that until the reports get through, we just ignore the flamer. That's my 2ยข. :)

Maybe we should limit the number of posts that a new user can post in a day? Eg. 25 posts a day for the first week and later the restriction would be removed. What do you think?
