What do you do at work? I was an Amazon Ambazador, I proccessed customer orders, scanned them, input data into the computer, packaged them and sent them away, fun job but seriously overkill on the 11 hour shifts ... at $13 an hour, they laid a bunch of us off after the holiday season was over and kept the guys with the highest packaging rates...may I add that this is one of the reasons why jobs that require you to maintain a certain rate are bad...you are obviuosly fighting to keep your job every body as supposed to earning yourself some money...I believe nobody likes to be walking on the edge of a knife knowing that if they slip just once, it could be a bad day...I couldn't even began to tell you how many times i've had leads up my Arse because some days my rate was down by 2 numbers,..TWO NUMBERS!! I'm glad i'm out of there, right now unemployed and still looking for a new job. I saved enough to keep me a float for a while.
I'm with an NVOCC Freight forwarding company. Basically import/export. Mostly it's just answering emails and passing documents around.
It's a great job actually. I wouldn't say I love what I do, but I don't dread doing it (and I have dreaded every other job I've had in my life) -- so it ranks very high by my standards. Good work environment, too.
I find boredom and stress tend to be a tradeoff -- and personally I'd rather do something that's a little boring than something that's a little stressful.
Why again do you not want to flex your C++ muscles?
Because I code in bursts. When I'm in the mood I can sit down a crank out page after page of code and it's super fun. But when I'm not in the mood (read: most of the time) I get nothing done and don't enjoy doing it.
If I coded professionally I would constantly be burnt out and hate my job.
Same way here bud, I have not touched C++ here in the last two days. Well actually, I've been busy re-designing a program but ON PAPER, have not coded at all and don't think I will the rest of the week.
