Japanese: What is up with sticking き on the end of い adjectives instead of leaving them as is? It seems to make them sound archiac or formal or something.

And nevermind, I just found out on an obscure site that the "ki" ending just makes the adjective archaic.

yea translate.google.com is crap with japanese as it combines words that arent meant to be combined.

I find much better success using translators when I use them like a dictionary and translate individual words and puzzle the grammar out myself.
