Regarding world travels
When we were young, me and my friends swore on our lives that when we graduated high school we'd go see the world. specifically japan. Well obviously that was a dream that stayed in our heads. We didn't even get out of our home town when we graduated. We had been from place to place, but we never went on our journey we swore we would.
Today. September 12th 2010, at 11:15 in the evening, my closest childhood friends and I made a pact. That on this day of the year 2017, we would go to japan. And Finally live up to one of our childhood promises together.
I tell you guys this for if I don't tell anyone I will surely forget by the end of the week.
and to keep this thread active and give it a purpose. If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be?

If I could go anywhere in the world I'd head to the nearest zombie apocalypse planning center to get a flamethrower. Mostly just to light barbecues.

...okay, seriously. I'd probably go to a remote and desolate yet fairly large (200 km radius minimum) island preferably far up north or far down south and live there.

You mean the zombie apocalypse planning center? Nah. Sometimes the continuous moaning of "brains" and the smell of rotting flesh really gets to someone who has some brains and has fair skin.

I would go to Iceland. It has the highest percentage of scientific literacy in the world, and is often in the top three of other ratings. It's an excellent country. Shame about the climate...

Shoot. I was going tos say "Are you sure top 10 coldest places" isn't one of those other 3 ratings its in?... Well you could always go to Greenland, I'm sure its much warmer there... given its name it must have a warmer climate.
Anways to answer the question, I'm not waiting to travel the world. I'm already doing it. The only thing I'm waiting for is money, in order to either return home, or continue traveling. I'm in Mexico city now. I want to visit Venezuela, and more of South America before I go home to Michigan. Its really nice in Mexico, although who knew it rained so much in the south of mexico? I had always figured it was pretty much a desert. The thing I enjoy most though is having a 2 week period in december in which it gets cold, followed by springlike and even summer like days when you see people out riding their bikes walking their dogs etc., its wonderful.
Does anybody have any idea of what its like to either study or work in mexico in the I.T. industry?
I have already travelled much of western europe. I have yet to visit London and Prague, and I want to return to Dresden (Germany). I also want to see the Pryamids of Egypt and Great Wall of China. But who knows when I'll make it that far.
I heard/read somewhere that Iceland was doing some really neat experimenting and had very good ideas about Biogenetics (I hope that's the proper word).
Anyway, if I could go anywhere... It'd be someplace in Africa, definetly. More central to the Equator, the "poor" but preferably non-dangerous places.
I think that'd give me some perspective on life, if nothing else.

If I would go to travel around the world/some far off country, I'd probably pursue my dream of learning ancient/old martial arts (like ninjitsu, for example). I'm really interested in learning new fighting styles, although Taekwondo/Taekyon mixed with MMA, grappling and weapon training is pretty sweet by it self.
I might be able to fend off some zombie ninja turtles when I get better.. .. :P
