I'm starting to get into it, Even though I'm an american, football (or soccer here) is one of my favorite sports :O....I actually can't stand american football or baseball.
Not only am I not interested in it, I also root against the national team. The sooner this ordeal ends, the sooner everyone can stop acting like morons. The other day, I almost fainted from the facepalm when I heard a professor say that she was asked by higher ups (or something) to move a test because it was at the same time as a game. I've considered building an inside out house on the shores of California and become a marine biologist, more than once.
If you say that you don't like football, here in Italy, people think you're mad.
I instead think people acting weird just because some not-really-smart-guy kicked a ball is mad...
I heard a professor say that she was asked by higher ups (or something) to move a test because it was at the same time as a game.
The HIGHER UPS? The hell? I would ask "When is the game?" and when they answer "Ok the test is moved to be exactly that length of time, and no leaving early!"
I played it, soccer, my freshman year in highschool. I was in shape then and I can attest that even at the highschool junior varsity level it is an intensely demanding sport.
I did play American Football from the 8th grade to the 11th... THIS IS (non-numb/dumb-running-only-after-the-ball)SPORT (the only better ones are Ice hokey and La Cross^^)... I only watch soccer when the BIG 2 are running(World/European Cup)...
We finished of England... wohoooo...
Let´s see what the match against Argentinia will show to us...
I like sports myself and I really do it a lot, but I just don't like LOOKING at people doing sports (without popcorn and friends :P). I'd rather run myself.
I agree with Kyon :) I love to do sports (football, tennis, cricket, competition swimming, cycling, baseball or just running) but I hate to watch it on tv.. It's just so boring.. I'd much rather do it myself (eventhough I'm not great) it's just so much more fun :)
