Most powerful iPod?

I'm working on a proof of concept DSP program and system power is a big thing with DSP. I'm curious which iPod has the most CPU power. I would be migrating the code to overwrite the iPod OS eventually.

I would assume the iPod touch is the most powerful one but does anybody have any solid numbers on which has the most processing power.

Probably the most current iPod touch, *the first google result for "ipod processors"* indicates that Apple doesn't release information about the hardware inside the iPods but it looks to be a Samsung ARM processor running at about 800Mhz.

The iPod Touch 2G runs at 500Mhz, while the 3G runs at 800Mhz.

thats amazing 800mhz. I still remember using the pentium 2 when I was a kid and here we have an iPhone 3G more powerful than the bulky desktop.
