I am the lord of the wind...

I didn't bother to say this as a reply to helios because I guess he wouldn't listen anyway
Screw you too, buddy.

So, in a consistent theory there are always things that can't be proved.
Of course the system system is incomplete! We've always known it's incomplete! The foundation of agnosticism is that the existence of God can't be proven or disproved.
So, let me get this straight. According to you, instead of making the system rigorous so we can filter out the noise, it's better to make it looser so we can essentially prove anything with it?

So, logic is not the way to go here.
This sums up the whole thing.

Nope, it's unlimited thinking.
Why didn't anyone tell me it was oxymoron day?
Thinking requires restriction, or you just end up producing noise such as "A is true and not A is true". If that makes sense to you, you have officially lost your mind.
I know what you meant, though. Despite what you claim, you consistently reject certain possibilities.
I can't imagine a god that would send you to hell just for not being baptized.
I choose to give an answer somewhat in favor of humanity, because I am rather optimistic
That's the very definition of wishful thinking. You're not considering all possibilities, just the ones you like.

What if it is like this? You have no way to prove or disprove it so what really matters is if you choose to believe it or not (because that choice will affect your life). What if it is? Are you willing to miss it?
Why don't you believe that you're on an ideal reality where everything you want is true? Oh, sure, the price is becoming delusional, but if what matters is living in Happyland and not The Truth, then what's the difference?

m4ster r0shi,
in your quotes from this 'book' why do you feel the need to put ****** instead of Ramtha[1]?
Student: Is it true that I chose to come back into a body?
******: Who else would choose for you?

From what I have seen in this thread and my own reading, this Ramtha: The White Book [et al] By Ramtha (read Judy Zebra Knight[2]) is just a mix of various old philosophies, some science, and half truths all wrapped up in some science fiction bullshit.

Why am I not surprised that there is only person that that Ramtha 'channels' through? And that she has a publishing company set up for the dissemination of this 'wisdom'? And the text seem to be littered with trade mark symbols? And that everything about this seems to be about making money?

Furthermore, Ramtha's teachings as they are portrayed in the movie What the Bleep Do We Know!? [...] (which was directed and funded by students of Ramtha's School of Enlightenment)
Oh, man. I can't believe this (well, okay, I can. I'm still surprised, though). A friend recommended this to me a couple years ago. The title suggested something about philosophy or physics, possibly string or M-theory.
I swear I couldn't finish it. My BS-meter was through the roof after the first half hour.

As a side note, the only two other movies I could never finish watching are Meet the Spartans and 2001: A Space Odyssey.

This movie is horrible! I got it for €3 so it's not that I wasted money on it, it's just awful. Not that 300 was any good either (basically, it's incredibly historically inaccurate and rips of LOTR a fair few times). I did watch it [Meet the Spartans] to the end, though.

I have yet to watch this either. I liked the start ("The Dawn of Man") but I got bored after that.

Ever try watching the 1984 version of Dune?

Good god that was terrible. I don't think I've ever heard such terrible writing.

Meet the Spartans

Well duh. =P Did you really expect a parody movie to be anything but complete trash?
Especially one by Friedberg and Setzer.

I wasn't expecting anything. "Seltzer And Friedberg" didn't mean anything to me, at the time.
I just realized the phrasing suggested I did manage to endure their other movies. I never watched any of them.

I fell asleep at some point after the part with HAL (the only redeemable thing in the film). When I woke up, some old guy was droning about something I couldn't care less about and I just shut the player off.
Dr. Strangelove, I did like, though.
"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This the war room!"

Boy was that a bad movie. I'm a big fan of Dune, I have read all the books, even a few of the trashy ones by Frank Herbert's son, whose name I forget. This might have made the movie even worse to me. I never forgot that stupid rain in the end, in a time when Arrakis was a complete desert!

I don't belief.
I won't belief.

:D
@m4ster r0shi: there's nothing wrong with simply not knowing. Our ignorance is a fact of life, something we have to deal with. What's the reason to fill the gaps in our current knowledge with things you would like to believe are true (which is wishful thinking, I hope it's clear)? I agree with helios, it's a matter of choosing to feel good even at the cost of living an illusion.
