I've used them in the past to test candidates for various skills, but I have not done so with C++. Typically if you are going to be tested on any programming language during an interview process its going to be on a set of problems that the development group encounters. Also note that many organizations do not hold weight in programming certifications simply because the tests are multiple choice and are really no indication of the applicants ability to problem solve. Is your goal just to provide some sort of C++ credential on your resume?
Some of the jobs that I am applying for have a small bit of C++ programming in them. Think Quant Trader: and when people see my resume and notice that I am not a CS major it is hard to get past the second step. So I was hoping some type of Cert would help me get past this hurdle
Without a CS or CIS degree, prior experience, certification, or portfolio, it will be difficult to land a programming job. Do you have any impressive C++ programs you've written that you can submit along with your resume to show proof of competancy?
