Well I like that its color, has internet access, etc... but the price is a bit steep for me and I have no intention on using ATT for anything, although I hear it would be sold unlocked. I would venture to say that if they get the price a little lower the Kindle is done for. Unless of course the Kindle releases something similar, but either way consumers will buy the IPad just because the media tells them to.
Now... if I could share documents over wifi then I would buy this for myself and my entire team. It would be fantastic to have one of these in design sessions instead of hauling around my laptop, a 100 page document or staring at the wall. If they can get visio on it then I'm probably sold. I just finished a 250 page requirements document and it would be priceless to carry around my documentation and models on a lightweight tablet.

I have been waiting for Plastic Logic to launch there Que proReader for this purpose, I have a usb stick crammed with PDFs, eBooks and such, it would be nice It would be nice to have a device that could store and display them in a easily readable (on the eyes) manner. Alas it looks like the UK company is launching it the US first, So I will still have to wait...
Re: the iPad
I realised late last night that my link to the Apple site was to the UK site (no info on the iPad there) so I when to the US site and started reading (and watching the video), it looks impressive.
iWish Apple would depart wiTh the stupid iDea that iF they put a lowercase iBefore a capiTal letter iT looks rebelliOus. iN fact iT just looks stupiD; iT's a dumb namIng system, and they're dumb for usiNg iT and comiNg up wiTh iT.
You would be surprised how many software companies (Oracle, Micros, etc...) use this convention in naming their modules they develop... iCare, iCentral, iPayment, iExpense, etc...
That's only true for creative works (such as controversial books, movies, etc.), not commercial products. If all the attention your product gets is about how much it sucks, that's bad publicity.

iHate it.
That post just looks like a long list of variable declarations to me :)

I think that's a bit harsh although each to their own i guess... I personally think it's a clever name. It's original. It makes sense. And as for it being rebellious, I think that is far from the idea they had in mind. They also couldn't really depart with the system now as so many of their products are named using that system and it would be a bit odd to change now.
Deep down I think we all would like to buy every product that starts with an 'i' by Apple. The only problem is most of us just don't have that much money to blow.
Yes, you're right. I totally want the iPad because it's like an iPod Touch, but bigger. And the iPod touch, of course, is not completely pointless. Who needs multitasking*? Flashy graphics and ridiculous prices make up for it, right?
The point being, it's just an oversized ipod touch. Who cares?
*The mobile phone I had five years ago had multitasking.
