Getting back into Programming - Tips?

Before taking my break from C++ (and coding in general), I only had a very basic understanding of the language. I've been reading a few tutorials here and there, as well as watching a few videos, but honestly? Some of it still seems pretty foreign to me. What are your tips for jumping right back in after a long break?

I don't really have any specific type of programming that I want to do, I just enjoy programming in general.

I suggest reading A Tour of C++ by Bjarne Stroustrup so you can see how C++ has changed.

From there it depends if this start coming back to you or not.
