Need your honest opinion please

Is this program worth it? http://vfs.edu/programs/programming
I'm not even Canadian so i would have to pay triple, so that's exactly $42,000. It's a risky investment but is it worth it? Or should i go to a regular university and get a bachelor's degree?
First of all, note that it is a programm for expeienced programmers.

Excerpt from program requirement: http://vfs.edu/programs/programming/program-requirements
Prepare a technical portfolio that contains 1-3 examples of programming work. Include a 1-2 page excerpt of source code you want to show off, and a 1-page descriptive summary for each project.

OR

Successful completion of ONE of the following VFS programs:
Foundation Visual Art & Design
Game Design
Digital Design
3D Animation & Visual Effects
So you either need some actual programming portfolio to show off or complete another paid course.

I would suggest going to university first. Then if you feel that it will be useful for you, get that course.

Also, did you see Coursera? https://www.coursera.org
It is a good way to get some additionak knowledge on some particular subject.

Thank you for your response and the links you provided were very helpful to me, thank you very much.
Just be warned- if you have to live at least close to the school itself, Vancouver is a very expensive place to live these days, due to the housing bubble that just won't burst.
